Acrophobia- Fear of height --> this phobia got me thinking whether phobia can be genetic.. My dad is afraid of height and my uncle is also very afraid of height... But then, many people are afraid of height...
Telephonophobia- Fear of telephones--> Actually I fear talking on the phone, especially to strangers. So, I can't really call up a place to reserve for dinner or call to complain about bad service... I can talk on the phone with friends and family but I prefer to SMS.. and when i talk on the handphone, my finger is always on the "Cancel" button, ready to end the call anytime.. Weird but true! o_O
Brontophobia- Fear of thunder and lightning --> not really but since I complain so much about loud thunder noise, I got asked before a few times whether I am really afraid of the thunder...
Phronemophobia- Fear of thinking --> I was looking for the right word to describe my new phobia.. Fear of things, words or images that evoke bad memories... I just learned a new phrase while doing my chinese homework and I realised this phrase had a very strong connection with a feared memory, so I tend to make my brain skipped through it.. like xxxx it.. -__- Can't find the word for my new fear, so i guess the fear of thinking is the nearest i can get...
Read somewhere before that phobia are usually to cover up very bad memories that we had when we were young. Truth or fiction? I don't know. I guess phobia is as mysterious as dreams...
