ai xin wa wa shen huo ying
i just came back from "ai xin wa wa shen huo ying" ( a Buddhist camp for children in primary 4 to 6).. it was a 3 days 2 nites camp..and since i am the group leader, which means i am suppose to be with the kids all the time, i had to stay overnight in the buddhist association togethr with the kids.. we had to sleep on tikar only..but some kids even brought their own mattress, pillow, bolster, blanket and teddy bear too.. ^_^
the first day started at 9am...but since everything is in Chinese and i am a 3/4 banana..erm..cause i can only speak mandarin..read very little chinese..and almost cannot write in Chinese, i was in BIG trouble..first and most importantly, i cannot read my group members' name..which means i cannot remember their names.. but there was this little boy that really impressed me(volunteered to help everytime we had to carry some things..or do something.. participated in all the activities enthusiastically and very polite..very very good boy..) (and i found out the little kid was born on Valentine's day.. ^_^) and another little boy who was just soooooo naughty ( i had to chase him everywhere..stop him from throwing things at performers..stop him from running up the stage..track him down everytime he disappeared during activities) so, i remembered 2 names.. hehe.. >_<
We had Buddhist classes conducted by the sifu..basically stories with values told by the sifu himself..then we had serial drama acted by the main committee..water games..flag designing..chants (in the morning and at night) and "Shaolin Kung fu"sessions..and also sing-a-long sessions.. we had picnics also for dinner, where we can choose any spots not too far away from the Buddhist association to have our dinner together as a small group..
I don't know how the main comm divided the group but i ended up with a bunch of very naughty kids..sigh..so i was telling myself this will be the last time i am going to volunteer as a group leader..
but the last day was a touching day..cause the group leaders were not allowed to have lunch..so all the kids queued up to take their food, not knowing their group leaders will not have food to eat..and since they are reminded not to waste food, they only took enough for themselves..
after they finished taking their food, all the group leaders took an empty bowl and a spoon each..and sat in one straight line in front of our own group of children..and the children were directed by the sifu to eat..while they eat,the sifu told them that the group leaders did not do their work, so they (we) were not allowed to have lunch..so, we had to sit with empty stomach looking at the children eating..and at that time,you could see children who selflessly stood up, brought their bowl to us and shared their food with us.. all food are vegetarian, so the best dish taht day was "yu char koay" and most of the children will give you their yu char koay and fruits,with rice..and the vege also.. and the boy i mentioned earlier wanted to give me half of all his food in the bowl..so touched.. they were hungry also as we had exercises and kung fu session in the morning..and breakfast was not in big serving..and they are growing kids..but they shared their food with us...so, many group leaders cried.. i did not..not because i have steel heart la.. but i wanted to look happy and thankful that they were willing to share..
but then some kids started to cry when we ( the group leaders) went to tell each of them how they had grown up in these very short 3 days.. how each kid had touched us..make me cry also.. :'(
then they came to thank us and gave us hugs..so cute..and so touched... and some asked me whether i will be group leader again for the camp next year.. -_-
will i?
maybe i will...just because of the kids gestures..and their cuteness..and their tears..
sigh...maybe i may not be able to ..considering i have to do my preceptorship next year..and going for concert tour..hmmm...
a very enriching experience..
oh yea.. i forgot to mention that i did not volunteer to be a group leader...my mom volunteered me..she helped me to sign up while i was still pia-ing for finals..so i was a very reluctant volunteer..not knowing anyone there at all..blur blur de go... but i made some friends..and made a lot of little friends.. ^__^
results for finals coming out tomorrow..don't ask me how i did..DON'T ASK..

what i want to blog today..
Was thinking of what to blog today..and i thought of my cute niece..yupz..i'm an aunt now..my niece is 8 months old..just for your information, in case you are wondering, my sister is 8 years older than me..so she is 2x years old..haha...and she got married 2 years ago..hmm..i will try to find her wedding picture..somewhere in my email..as you can see below, that is my niece, Shearn En and her mom (my sis)..
Little En En was not in the best mood when this picture is taken..it's near her sleeping time..so, she wouldn't smile to the camera.. But was more interested in the camera itself..
and tried to grab it..
hehehe..that's my favourite niece..erm..or should i say my only niece..everybody's favourite..
Which brings me to another question..what do you call your cousins' sons and daughters? hmm..also nieces and nephews? i don't know..maybe..if so, i have A LOT of nieces and nephews..and many older than me..yeah..complicated..
think i deleted my bro-in-law's email..aiks..so, no wedding photo to put..
my cousin getting married tomorrow! i'm going to balik kampung in the evening..and makan besar..wuahahaha...
sigh..my mood was kinda good today..cause going to balik kampung ma..then something happened..which changed my mood totally...hmm..i always do things and regret later..sigh..and today i totally regret what i did la..i knew i should not have done it..but, sigh,...once again, the heart ruled the brain..my stupid brain..should not elaborate more..but just recording it down to remind myself.. PLEASE DO NOT REPEAT YOUR MISTAKE AGAIN AND AGAIN!!

today
hey...today i decided to continue uploading some pictures to clear them from my comp..and look look..we all looked so cute when we were in NUS last year..haha..first year first sem..first month.. it was 31st August 2004, Malaysia's National Day! you can see everyone's young, excited faces.. (not that we are much older now..) >_<
in about 3 months time, we will all be in NUS for sem 1 year 2!! we will be seniors! woohoo!! we survived a year in NUS...like some say, we survived hell! ahhaha...
hmm...i'm thinkin how to add another image..aiks..i a bit not so smart la..in computer stuff..i spoilt my comp!
i had always been terrified by computer..not scared it will eat me la..but scared i will spoil such an important and EXPENSIVE property
This is year 1 sem 2..hehe..some different people..but look at the same people..like LK,XH, SM, JF..some of them did really changed physically..mentally, i think everyone changed..everyone grew up more..hhaha..and grew older...

Wong Choong Hann... the newspaper used to put his name as Wong Choon Hann..(don't ask me why..) Many years ago..I saw him once at Kedah Open..many years ago apparently..still not that famous yet..and i asked for autograph..but i didnt have any paper with me..so i used my RM1 for him to sign on..hahahah..it had always been in my wallet and still is..interested to see? can ask me anytime..always there..not that i'm a big fan..but he's ok..his playing is ok..and he is A LOT more good looking in person.. *grinz*
oh yea..back to the mispelling.. I was looking at the autographed money and realised a "g" after "Choon"... *scratch head* how come?
Choong Hann didnt know how to spell his own name???
many many days later... The Star finally realised their mistake and changed the spelling to the correct one...the one with "g" *grinz*
And with Choong Hann, i saw Yap Kim Hock (very short only..about my height), Choong Tan Fook and Lee Wan Wah (got their signature also..both of them on a RM2 ...) ;)
Back to me....i'm now a full time nanny, part time shopkeeper and night time volunteer at the Buddhist Association.. *wipe sweat*
no rest at all..and no pay somemore.. hmmm..maybe some pay for the nanny-ing...and some for the shopkeeper..but volunteering..volunteer ma..don't have lor...hopefully Buddha po pi po pi..ehehehhe...

i finally figured out the Internet connection at home (or rather my dad's shop)...*phew*
i seem to have disappeared from the Internet for some time..yea...why?
i'm stupid la...
firstly, TM is stupid..got themselves a new name but stil bad service..got problem with my streamyx lor..but, maybe my dad always pay bill last minute also..so they terus cut the line? don't know.. o_0
secondly, me stupid...
i don't know exactly what i did..but somehow i uninstalled my home comp's Windows 98!!! how did this happen? i was just clearin the temporary internet files..and the final thing i did was to delete "Gunbound" cause it was not functioning anyway...then i clicked on the streamyx icon to sign in..hmm..could not...not responding..then i clicked the icon at the taskbar and signed in..then clicked on Internet explorer..no respond... hmmm...*think think* restarted comp... and there it was, my worst nightmare--> Please key in the registration number of windows 98.. huh?! simple task...but not for me or my family who are as computer illiterate...we dont keep those CDs that come with a new comp..what are those for?! don't know..don't care...
for once, ignorance is not bliss!

2nd last day of my 1st year in NUS
today i woke up reluctantly due to the nice cold weather..it finally rained!! and it's a heavy sort of rain..not the drizzle and gone type..but i have to wake up to do my last laundry of the academic year..have to finish taping everything and move them down at 1030am..woke up and realise i had no more 20cents coin..woohoo..no need do laundry..went back to sleep ..lol..but woke up around 830am also la..sienz..
taped everything..brought everything down..yeah! done!
washed clothes..watch some tv, read some newspaper, checked some mails and friendster...
off i went to watch Adler Trio..a harmonica trio from Israel..rare chance eh.. great performance i would say..fantastic even..especially their fast numbers..very precise and distinct notes..
then we went to have dinner at marina square..we sat outside and the view is so beautiful..you can see the city center light up with the merlion and fullerton hotel.. and also the esplanade on the right side.. and stars shining brightly in the sky..nice place..
then we went to the amphitheater beside esplanade where a jazz band is performing..hmm..never really like jazz but then the feeling and atmosphere there is kinda good..should go again sometime..especially with the special someone..nice place to pak toh..hehe..the jazz music is not that bad...even i can sway to it and not falling asleep..oh, there's a stall that sells soft drinks in bottle..the old classic kind of bottle..at $1.20 only..will buy when i bring a bigger bag next time..
ooh, got to eat my grand senior's birthday cake bought from Polar..very very super chocolatey le..like eating a whole slice of melted chocolate and some frozen chocolate at the side..totally absolutely, wholy chocolate!!
ooh..finish eating, cabut time..kekeke...went back to pgp lor..tired..but nice experience..another new thing i did this academic year.. ~jazz at the bay~
sometimes, i think coming to singapore has totally changed me as a person, mentally or physically.. this experience has certainly brought many many more new experiences into my life..and enrich my life..making them more colourful and lively..not my boring old life in a small small town called Butterworth..which many dont even know wher it is..and why is it related to Penang..a typical question " Isn't Penang just the island?" duh-uh..NO!!
another typical statement "Oh, you not from Penang island is it? Say la you from Butterworth, not Penang.." Duh-uh!! Duh-uh!! Duh!! Butterworth is in Penang la..Penang is a state which consists of Penang island and Province Wellesley (Seberang Perai) on the peninsula..
Being in Singapore has enabled me to do many things which will seem unimaginable if i had stayed in Penang all the while..hmm..though life is very stressful here..i sometimes think i do have fun here as well... more fun than at home..just the lack of family comfort when i am down that makes my life miserable here..hmm.. it's contradicting yea..my life is more fun here but also more miserable here..the extremes..
enough of extremes for now..it's time to go home!! woohoo!! home!!

home !! i'm goin home!! i dont know how to describe my feeling now..but it's certainly a mixed feeling..i'm finally going home you know..after how many months? it may not be long for some.. but for a typical Cancerian like me, home is the best!! nothing beats being home with my family..though we sometimes quarrel til the roof's gonna fly..nothing..ever..can replace the home feeling.. sob sob..

i'm goin home!!i shoould be happy..but i know after being here for so long..i had shifted my inner clock to suit pgp n NUS and Singapore..it will be a little hard to fit back into Butterworth again..will tend to wake up later..won't be used to lunch and dinner together with family..will have some withdrawal symptom caused by my laptop..cause wont be able to online whole day.. (shivers...) ..i will kinda disappeared from internet at nite..cause use streamyx in my dad's shop and house no streamyx, no phone line.. >_< thank god have Astro..one of the things i really look forward to besides my family, food and my bed.. Astro and 8tv!

I'm writing this as if everyone i mentioned will read it..in reality, less than half of them know i have a blog..and even less actually reads my blog..but i still want to thank them.. maybe i will be too shy to say to them face to face how much they meant to me in my tiring journey here in a foreign land... people come people go..but some people leave foot prints in your heart and will always remain in your heart no matter where they are.. these are the people that i will certainly miss when i am home in butterworth..for 3 months.. i will be out of touch with all of them..maybe except some that might come and visit me.. why?
1. Why did i change the colour of my blog ar?
i changed to another design..but i dont really like how it minimize my writings.. so i decided to change back to the old one but somehow, ky's voice was inside my head telling me not to use such dark colour... so i decided to choose a brighter colour..but all the other design dont really appeal to me except this pink one..hmm..maybe i should change again soon..so not me yea..
2. Why did i get sick?
Speculation no 1: played too much..
Speculation no 2: didnt have enough sleep
Speculation no 3: ate McD 2 days in a row..
Speculation no 4: work too hard for finals and when i finally relax, all the sickness come
Speculation no 5: Heat stroke
My answer: ALL of the above
3. Why...
If you are a girl and you are single, can you ask a guy friend who is also single to help you find a boyfriend? Why not ar?
Unless you are interested in that guy friend..or if the guy is gay (in which case you two will be fighting over a same guy)
Maybe someone should enlighten me..
hmm...that's all the why(s) i have for today..
Why malaysian tv not showing "dolphin lagoon lovers" ? sob sob..going hom soon..no more singapore tv...(oh no! i actually like singapore tv, which used to be real sucky..nowhere to compare with malaysian tv..

Sick~
I'm feeling very sick..i'm really sick..got slight fever...whole body ache..even my teeth ache...and nobody to take care of me.. except ky n wx..(Thanks so much!!).. i'm just feeling terrible now..can't do anything much..had been sleeping the whole day..many things not done..haven't start packing...haven't book for checking out time slot..haven't bought my bus ticket.. :'(
my head is like a few tonnes heavy now..should i go back to sleep..feel so weak..and hopeless...

mega project 1
i want to record down everyone that i got to know in my 1st year in NUS.. so, it will be a mega project which may need a few days to complete..
so, i shall start with the 1st person who talked to me in NUS (only include those who i had never known before..do not include my JC friends`)
1. Sok Ming: in my loneliness in the unfriendly environment of PGP, SM was the first person who took the initiative to talk to me.. ^_^ so happy..very friendly girl..who can act on impulse anytime...anywhere..anyhow...
2. xue hui: together with sok ming was xue hui...haha..1st impression--> very quiet and serious looking girl..but turn out to be really blur...
(together, 3 of us met a Lee hom-lookalike..an ABC on exchange..and we played game together)
3. Kah ying: introduced by XH's secondary school friend..same cluster with me..also pharmacy..1st impression,very soft-spoken..sometimes high-pitched also..hehe.. ^_^
4. Ya ying: SM's secondary school friend..very cute girl..small face..hehe..(she's always telling us about a friend that is comin to NUS also..but only got the letter really late)
5. Su wan: SM's sec school friend also...can cook very well..very tasty spaghetti.. :D
6. Pei jou: the infamous one, always talked about by YY..haha...very optimistic and cute girl..always sunny...

continuation of 30th May 2005
met YJ at bedok mrt, took a taxi to ECP McD..met up with JE and CC..now we know where is the happening place in singapore at nite..a place where there are still people around after 11pm (unlike orchard road)..
walked around ECP and finally settled on a row of huge stones..looked up into the skies..stars!! stars in light polluted sky of singapore!! hmm..nice nice..except the terrible weather!! so warm! and humid le..no wind at all..sigh..reclaimed beach is really different from a natural beach..so..we decided to go for a walk instead..then went to McD for some snacks...sat til nearly 4am..went back to the beach and laid down..
hmm..basically crapped til the sun came out at around 630+ am.. not very fascinating as there were clouds at the horizon..blockin the complete view of the sun..however, we still can see the brightenin of the sky..first it was ray of sunshine shining into the sky..then it spread in circular forms..nice nice.. ^_^
then we went to Parkway parade for our breakfast at YaKun Kaya Toast...and went back to our respective hall..
1st May
10am: reached pgp and bath..sleep....hp, silent mode...laptop mute...peaceful sleep..suddenly woke up at 1.20pm..haha..reflex i think..saw hy's miss call...
1.23pm: decided to SMS hy since she called me.. the reply-> me n ky goin to orchard. meet at bus stop 1.25pm.. 0_o
persuaded her to wait for me and not leave me alone in pgp (jenfi, khim n wx goin to ikea)
1.55pm: met ky n hy at bus stop...off we went to orchard...spend most of the time in kinokuniya though...but nice place...
830pm: came back to pgp, bath n went to khim's place..she cooked chicken wings,glutinous rice balls and sausages..yeah yeah!!
and we talked and played cards til 4am!!
2nd May
woke up at 830am cause hui rei is comin to pass all her secretary things to me..-__-""
swept and mopped my floor..clear up my stuff..and waited for her...
1130am: done with the passing over....
1255pm: met sw at bus stop and off i went to orchard again!
630++pm: went to Boat Quay...talk crap..
~1130pm: back to pgp...
130am: fell asleep while typing this blog..and had to save as draft and continue today...hehe
hmm...counting back...
since 6am 30th May til yesterday 130am 2nd May, i had only 8 hours of sleep! out of 43 hours!
(salute myself man..) and i wasnt half dead in this 43 hours at all..maybe a little, usually after meals when all blood goes to my stomach and none to my brain...
just felt that i want to chronicle this special phase of my life..not an interesting blog entry..but can keep here and review it end of next sem to plan for another interesting thing to do..maybe end of next sem i will aim to sleep for 43 hours continuously..hahahha
okies..got to go have more fun...lol...eating McD for dinner again...it's terrible..it's unhealthy..it's fattening..but...woohoo!!

exams over!!
woohoo!!
actually i typed this phrase the 3rd time already..haven had time to sit down and blog my happiness of finally overcomin final exam..ahhaha...straight after my last paper, we went to slack in YIH..yeah, man...that's what we are best at doing..slack..and talk crap...wuahhaha...
then i went back to pgp for a short rest before goin out..but...sigh...once i'm in my room, my fingers automatically went to my precious laptop..hehe..by the time i forced myself to stop, it's already 5pm (finished exam at 3pm)..
got to catch some sleep...zzzz....
5.05pm : my dad called... -__-
it's a good thing cause our conversation got cut off yesterday due to my stupidness of not topping up my prepaid hp...talked to my mom also..had been weeks since i talk to her! (she's more busy than i am... >_< )
5.15pm: argh! will be late..ran to bath and rushed out to meet the rest at 530pm.. (record-breaking..haha)
then..hmmmm...
1. went out of my room, saw ky..eh, both us wearing shade of red hor.. *wink wink* ^_^ ky's sandals are also red..hmm..
2.walked to the bus stop and surprise! sm and wx were also in red top! argh!! (hy was in black...haha..imagine a black between 4 reds! )
3.saw sw walking towards the bus terminal..ARGH!! me, sm n ky let go of a hysteric scream that made almost everyone at the bus terminal turned and looked at sw.. SW WAS WEARING A RED TOP!!
weird but true...and we didnt planned at all..the only person who asked what we gonna wear was hy...i told her i'm gonna wear pink and she told me she's gonna wear black..and the classic ms wx said she does not have any red top...LOL...
4. was at the bus stop opp NUH and along came Soo Fern..in RED...
it started to look really like CNY outing...luckily wy was not in red...ahhaahha...
went to eat at Billy Bomber's at Bugis Junction..very nice place..typically American style kinda eatery..very very good design.. really a special way to end our exam..after only eating sandwich for lunch..it was a really good place to pamper our stomach..the price is a bit expensive..but it's the end of exams! who cares about the price?! woohoo!! (the layout is real cute..with some parts of the place lookin like it came out from Westlife's mtv " Uptown Girl".. could almost see Shane, Bryan and the rest dancing around with mops..haha)
The food was not bad..very big serving..sw's ice lemon tea was in a JUG..yea..not glass.. a JUG!!
I had M C Chicken with fries, soup of the day, and chocolate ice cream for dessert... yumm yumm..
Then we went shopping as usual..SM and HY both bought a skirt and a top respectively..me no money..look, look, see, see..hehhe...then it was time for talking crap...wanted to go to the Coffee Place along City Link..but our logic told us that the place will be full..after all, it was Saturday night and a long weekend for many..so we decided to stay in Bugis and went to Coffee Bean(small place, not too comfortable)--> changed to Starbucks (even worse..air cond was not on..and people smoking)--> walked back to Coffee Bean again..heheh(shifted two places somemore..) *women have fickle mind* hehe..
it was 1120pm when we left coffee bean..me, SM and SW continue our journey to Bedok MRT to meet YJ while the rest make their way back to PGP...
