Happy Halloween!
Swei came on Sunday night to play and be our professional manicurist... She always bring nice cheesecake for us.. this time, she bought Tau Sar Piah for us! I like this Singapore version of tau sar piah (actually prefer the salty version but this sweet version is just as nice)...
The few of us watched "Stepford Housewives" together... It was a rather enjoyable movie though the plot is so-so and maybe a little absurb... But the perfect house and lawn and kitchen.. and the mountain of colourful muffins! :)
There was no class on Monday but I went to school to do my FYP and study... Khim came in the afternoon and brought us a bag of chocolates from her cafe :)
Some of the chocs we took out and the pack of strawberry-flavoured chewy sweets WX bought... Met Xue Hui and the HO gang for dinner.. Haven't eaten with them for a long time... Kinda miss the time when we were in the EXCO... always eating supper after harmo practice.. and the cycling trips we had.. Now, nobody wants to go cycling with me anymore (or actually nobody is free to go..)
Came back to study for Chinese test on Tue morning.. The test was more difficult than expected.. or I did not study hard enough... Only practice all the characters once.. :(
Promised Thunder to watch piano concert that evening but I was too tired.. almost fall asleep in Pharmacotherapy class... went home to study for dispensing lab instead... At 9PM, dear housemate-Birdie decided to cook green bean soup.. I don't like beans generally but her soup was rather nice! :)
It's great to have housemates who can and likes to cook... Feel pampered:)
Today was my last dispensing lab ever!! (^_^)v
Our dear lecturer mentioned in class that he will give bonus points to students who turn up in Halloween costumes! The normal dress code for dispensing lab is formal (to look as much like a real pharmacist as possible)... Well, a pharmacist can be considered rather scary...
Our dear class rep decided to plan for a costume theme. So, everybody was supposed to wear all black.. black top and black bottom.. Many people adhered to the costume code and she went to ask the lecturer for extra points for those in blacks but he did not agree :(
After lab, CM and I rushed home and then to Macpherson Road to meet Agnes... Agnes was going to treat CM to a birthday dinner and CM asked me along :)
It's an Italian restaurant called "Finalmente gastronomia"... the restaurant had opened for only about 2 weeks... The design inside is rather simple.. with minimal decorations on the wall-1 very nice big photograph of a lady and 1 colourful wall painting by a pizza chef... There are 2 sections, one at the front and another private area behind the curtain... The Italian boss and chef can be seen walking around in the shopfront, entertaining the customers... With such great service, there is NO service charge! and NO GST! The prices of all the food are nett prices! Save up to 17%... The nett price is not even expensive in the 1st place!

We had
1. salad- 'finalmente' antipasto with Focaccio bread and chicken slices
2. Pasta of the Day- ink pasta with squids and clams
3. 5 Cheese Pizza with cured ham
4. suckling pig with shredded cheese and mushrooms
5. dessert- tiramisu and chocolate cake
The 3 of us shared all the above.. the chef was nice enough to cut the 2 pieces of cakes into 3 portions and decorate them so nicely for us! It was just great :)
I personally like the salad a lot cause the bread, the chicken and the vegetables go very well with each other... The ink pasta was special and the suckling pig was something different... The 5 cheese pizza was nice too! especially with the thin slices of ham on it..
The dessert was superb! I like the Tiramisu more than the chocolate cake.. the mousse was very light and fragrant... But if you are a chocolate-lover, the chocolate cake is wonderful! and very sinful! :P
We felt sooooooooooooooooo full after the meal... There were 2 pieces of bread left so we asked the chef to pack and he kindly add 2 more pieces for us-packed nicely in 2 separate boxes for CM and me! :)
