RIB 10th Reunion Dinner 2005

Well, as the title suggest, my friends and I went to the 10th anniversary reunion dinner in Raffles Boarding School.. we might have been the youngest batch to be back..cause we left the boarding school merely 2-3 years ago..not many people wanted to go intially, but then we ended up with 2 tables of 20 people which was not bad at all..thanks to JE.. KC and Eugene H came from KL and YM came all the way from Penang.. not entirely for the dinner..but partly..and the other part is to meet up with ex-AJCians and her *ahem* (clear throat..hehe ) It cost $20 which is kinda ex for a dinner.. and it's in the dining hall..though i had always like RIB's dining hall..it can turn very pretty everytime we have formal dinner..which is once a sem.. My life in RIB might have been the most stressful time of my life, but the experience had been the most exciting too.. RIB really provided an enjoyable boarding life to all the boarders.. every sem we'll have a Courtyard Dinner where all the lights in the courtyard will be lighted.. once every 2 sem, we will have social night..though i didnt really like that la..a bit sien.. and every sem we have the Formal Dinner..since the ratio of girls to guys in RIB is 1:4, the girls will be dispersed among the guys.. the places meant for girls to sit will have a rose on it.. ^_^ but this tradition was somehow forgotten nearer to the end of my second year..or was it my last formal dinner in RIB, where we were allowed to sit wherever we wanted..
Yesterday's dinner was almost the same as our usual formal dinner.. except

we have to pay for it
the appetiser was better.. there were squids, big prawns and something in a shell.. (never like anything in a shell but that thing was ok..)
and the dessert was better also..usually we have cheapo stuff..but we had cheese cake..in more generous portion than we ever had during our formal dinner (not very big la.. )
the tables were for 10 person per table..so it's arranged in squarish form.. ( we used to sit at long tables..)
and less people i guess..

hmm.. when the guest of honour arrived..there were still empty places..and we heard that current boarders were forced to fill up the place and pay for it too.. guess 10th anniversary is really young..and many of the boarders didnt not feel like comin back to meet their old friends since most of them are still keepin in touch.. all the house staffs during our time came back... which was great.. though i was not very very close to them..talking about that..i didnt see the current house staff..those that i was closer to..hmm..

anyway, the dinner was quite fun...cause KC was super hyper yesterday nite..dancing around in his sit..then someone revealed a super surprising scandal during our time in AJ that none of us knew except EH.. tsk tsk tsk.. then some others were revealed..hehe..a table of 8 gua ppl..

there were also performances by current and ex-boarders.. Krishna sang..he sang during our formal dinner too..and he is very very very good in singin.. then he partnered another guy..with one more guy at the piano to sing "Thats what friends are for".. NICE ^_^ .. and the pianist himself, Amos sang an Indonesian song.. then there were a duet by 2 PRCs.. a violin player..and a performance by ex boarder of 7-8 years ago..singin "I will always love you"..

then we took pix.. with the AJ gang and the best lookin guy in RIB when we were staying ther..haha ( in YM's and my humble opinion la..) btw, the guy or actually boy was only in Sec 1 when we were there..so now he's 17 going on 18..haha.. generally had a good time la..being in the compund again.. (=n_n=)\/

then me, YM, JE, CC, ferry, KC, and Hieu went to Clarke Quay..since we are not very rich..we went to 7-eleven to get a drink and sat by the riverside..stoning and talkin occasionally though YM n F were talkin most of the time..hehe...and CC realised that my fourth toe is longer than my 3rd..which is kinda weird.. hmm.. unique, k.. i should snap a pic of my feet when i'm more free.. aiyak..should continue reading up on my project..sigh.. 2 weeks of sem 1 flew right past my eyes.. work piling up..and so is my laziness..
