haven't been updating my blog for quite some time.. mainly cause i'm at home now.. and spending my time totally slacking and stoning..and reading some books.. so not much interesting thoughts to share.. I had been in Singapore for 2 weeks.. 1st week to prepare for the interaction event and the following 4 days was the interation event itself.. oh yea... Ranita ( in case she's reading this) asked me to blog this down..so that in the future, when she reads this, she can reminisce (not sure bout the spelling.. :P) her time in NUS and Singapore.. and how she pollute my name in NUS Pharm...heheh...Ranita is quite famous in NUS Pharm now.. lol..
anyway, the interaction event was between Pharmacy students of NUS,USM and UM..there were about 20+ students from each uni, ranging from year 1s to 3s...Wei Ying and I were suppose to pick up the USM students from Golden Mile Complex at 830am since both of us have friends coming from USM.. but their bus were so fast that they arrived before 7am..and called Benny...who was still sleeping and it took him some time before he found out that he was talking to USM people..hahaha...so we took cab from PGP to accompany the USM people til their chartered bus came at 9am... well, the first day was basically tour around NUS, welcoming address and come ice breaker games...
2nd day was Sentosa Day.. Me and gang were programme i/c..so we left for Sentosa after breakfast while the event participants had their presentations and discussion in LT25..we tried out the games ourselves and then went on to set up the different stations.. station 1: Fountain Gardens --> Minesweeper station 2: Silosa Beach --> Guess the Celebrity station 3: Palawan Beach --> Build the Sandcastle station 4: Palawan Beach --> Obstacle game well, the whole point of the game is to get them wet...get to tour the beach..and FUN...besides collecting points... 1st prize is $40 worth of chocolates (Ferrero Rocher, Toblerone, Pokky...etc.) while 3 consolation prizes are worth $20 each of chocolates too... then, it was free and easy.. we went to City Hall area...( Suntec City, Fountain of Wealth, Esplanade, the Merlion...etc.) and took a lot of pics.. the plan to have dinner at Chinatown was cancelled due to drizzle... :(
3rd day... program disturbed due to rain...no games in the morning..so participants were allowed to rest til lunch time..then they had some educational talks before breaking for free and easy tour again...this time was Bugis.. ( i didn't go though..slept like a pig in the hostel the whole afternoon)...had BBQ for dinner..not very successful though...cause the pits were wet from the rain earlier..and some participants did not join in (mainly cause they were tired after 3 days..) and some disruptions here and there...lucky draw was also cancelled (the prizes were distributed to the committee...heheh...but Ranita got a NUS centennial celebration mug from us.. :D) some went to Wala Wala at Holland V..and some went to Zouk..me? had to help to pack up and clean the place..so cannot go.. sob sob.. :(
4th day..last day...another talk..and closing address by Head of NUS Pharmacy department, Dr. Chan Sui Yung..btw, she thought us 3 "ships".. 1. Friendship 2. Partnership 3. Mentorship well, apparently the most interesting one was partnership as she advised us to be on the look out for life partners so that we won't grow old by ourselves...*lol* didn't know the HOD will give this kind of advice...and she even encouraged us to go on blind dates.. not that we will definitely marry the blind date but maybe the date can introduces us to their brothers, cousins, friends..etc. hahahhahahah.....so, the singles out there hor...have to expand your circle of friends..and go for more blind dates...wuahahaha... then we went to zoo... hmm.. some went to Bugis...and some left Singapore for home...
took a lot of pictures...make some friends...over all, was a good experience..but now i know the problems that organisers faced..not as simple as we see it...and certainly very burdening..for the next interaction event, i will be an old senior lor..as this event is bi-annually.. hopefully this time i can join as a participant..as i think the participants made more friends..from their allocated groups..while there seems to be a small distance between the organising commitee and the participants.. that's what i felt though..hmm.. >_< talking about pictures..i don't have any with me..cause i dont own a camera..so i'll have to wait for friends to send..or to put up on their friendster before i can put here..
